Gene Simmons hosts a night at the park
Before Dada left town, we looked at the weather forecast together and he made me promise that I would not take the children outside. Yesterday and today peaked with heat indices of 110 degrees here in the Amazon rainforest Newark. I agreed; Jacob doesn't need that kind of oppression on his precious little system. We are not supposed to see any kind of relief until tomorrow night when it's supposed to rain. Right now? At 11:00? The heat index is 96. That's just wrong.
I did the best I could, staving off boredom for a day and a half, but I knew it was time to break that vow when Isaac, resident cinephile, suggested going for a walk tonight INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV. It's funny how those little people seem almost impervious to the sweltering jungle temperatures outside. Isaac could have cared less that his hair started sticking to his scalp in under two minutes. He was so excited to no longer be confined in his air-conditioned prison that he obeyed all of the Mommy's barked commands at the park whilst he ran, jumped, and especially climbed:

Even Jacob was content to sit in the stroller, which he usually is not, and take it all in.

You will notice how both boys have this crazy tongue-sticking-out thing going on. I may have forgotten to tell you -- Dada's real reason for wanting a second child? To make us a foursome so that we can go, as a family, as Kiss for Halloween. Sorry Jake. I think Isaac is ahead in the running to be Gene Simmons.
