Take me out to THE BIG GAME
When does it really hit home that he's no longer a baby? On his first day of baseball. Sigh.

We decided this would be Daddy and Isaac's thing. There were lots of different athletic opportunities available, and Daddy picked baseball. He takes Isaac to a 6-week tee-ball class through the city's parks & rec department. Not "league", but "class". There are two coaches that teach the basics of the game to 20 kids. The last class is THE BIG GAME, where the kids team up against their parents. As the flyer we got in the mail says, "FYI: the children are undefeated!" SO. CUTE.
Isaac's first class was this past Saturday, which was awesome because Poppop got to go. Poppop loved it, I'm sure, since he was quite a baseball player in his day. I loved it because he took all the pictures.

Interestingly, Coach Randy (in the black fleece) is a student in a class Daddy is teaching right now. How cool is that? Gotta love our little college town. And -- can you say "blackmail"?

Coach Randy and his cohort had the kids practice catching ...

... and running the bases.

Isaac had a fantastic time, and Daddy said he followed every direction and did really pretty well at what they asked him to do. Daddy also said it was probably a good thing I didn't come. He said I would have been a blubbering mess, watching my baby doing what big kids are supposed to do on Saturdays.
